The aim of the site is to highlight some of the fantastic skiing and boarding available in Scotland. You won't find details of tours on the site, but you will find information about gullies, faces, corrie headwalls and other prominent lines that are worth the effort to get to for the descent.
Initially, the thought was to only include details of graded climbs that have been skied or boarded, but that would have resulted in the exclusion of some superb lines. There is a lot of steep ground in Scotland that despite the angle does not appeal to climbers, but is a natural target for skiers and boarders. It was felt that it would be wrong to exclude some of the big, more moderately angled lines, so a few of these can be found on the site as well.
You will notice that there is a bias towards the Cairngorms at present - this is mainly due to the accessibility of these hills to me! Even then, there are some glaring omissions, but the gaps will be filled over time. Whereas I am aware of much more than has been included in the site so far, the lines described have either been skied, or have been climbed, noting that they would be skiable. However, I encourage people to contribute details of other lines that they have done, so that the site can be more representative of what is on offer across the whole country with first hand information. Alternatively, please use the contact form to get in touch.
The site is a (slow) work in progress, in terms of the content and functionality, so please let me know if you spot any errors, whether technical/spelling/incorrect info/etc,
I hope you find the site useful.
